Friends of the Uinta County Library

Who We Are

The Friends of the Uinta County Library is a volunteer nonprofit organization made up of people who recognize the vital role the library plays in the community. The group provides support, service and advocacy for the library.

What We Do

The Friends of the Uinta County Library provide funds for library materials, programs, services and volunteer recognition through donations, fundraisers, or programs to help benefit the Library.

The Friends Promote reading, literacy, and library use.

The Friends Educate members, elected officials, and the general public about the Uinta County Library.

The Friends of the Uinta County Library will assist in programs at the Library. This will change depending on the time of the year.

The Friends demonstrate community support for the Uinta County Library.

Volunteer

There are many volunteer opportunities available through the Friends. If you would like to donate your time and talents to the Uinta County Library, indicate your areas of interest when signing up. Here are a few examples below.

Used Book Sale:

  • Sorting and stacking books (year round)
  • Event set up and tear down
  • Helping customers during the sale

Help Get Books on the Shelves:

  • Covering books
  • Maintaining collection of replacement books

Public Services:

  • Assisting with Storytime preparation (May require background check)
  • Help set up public displays and seasonal decorations
  • Maintain public bulletin boards

Donations

The Friends welcome your donations of books and magazines for the used book sale. Proceeds from the sale of donations benefit the Uinta County Library, and all donations are tax deductible.

Donations are accepted at all Library locations. Large donations should be made at the main Library (701 Main Street) and can be delivered to the garage. To make arrangements for the drop off of large donations, call (307)783-0485
